How to determine the wear on your MTB brake discs?
Even though MTB disc brakes are designed to wear the MTB brake pads and not the disc, the latter will inevitably wear over time with repeated use. It can be dangerous to ride with an excessively worn disc, which could fail during a sudden, intense braking event.
The maximum wear value a for a MTB disc corresponds to approximately 10% of the disc's original thickness. However, it is advisable to check the specific information for each model provided by the manufacturers.
