HAIBIKE - The Exception

Haibike takes a new direction in 2019 with the introduction of a complete system comprising frame, motor and battery, achieving an unprecedented level of integration and top-of-the-range performance.

Named FLYON, this concept is found in the XDuro NDuro, AllMtn, AllTrail, Adventr.

The FLYON MTBs and trekking e-bikes are built on an entirely new platform made from high-quality carbon, as high-performing as it is robust. The HaibikeePerformance system was designed to achieve a high level of integration, particularly with regard to the battery, which is inserted longitudinally into the down tube, enabling a lighter and more stable construction.

Full-suspension frames also benefit from a "Flip-Chip" system, an aluminium component whose variable position allows for 9 mm of adjustment at the shock absorber, 1° of head angle adjustment and 10 mm at the bottom bracket, substantially altering the bike's handling characteristics.

HPR 120S Motor

Alongside the frame, the centrepiece of the FLYON models is the HaibikeHPR 120S motor. Designed and manufactured in Germany in collaboration with TQ, this motor delivers a massive torque of up to 120 Nm, making it quite simply the most powerful motor on the market!
Enough to tackle steep climbs, fly across your favourite trails and explore new frontiers. While being incredibly powerful, this motor is ultra-compact and offers perfect modulation thanks to five customisable assistance modes.

To protect this motor from the impacts and debris inherent in e-MTB riding, Haibike, which was the first manufacturer in the world to integrate a motor guard (or SkidPlate) back in 2012, has naturally equipped the Flyon range bikes with a specific skid plate made from reinforced composite material.

Chainring

To make the most of the capabilities offered by the HPR 120S motor, Haibike has designed a specific Direct Mount chainring, available in 38 or 42 teeth to perfectly match your pedalling cadence and transmit all the power in an optimal way. This chainring also benefits from a Narrow/Wide design ensuring perfect chain retention in all circumstances.

Battery

To power a motor such as the HaibikeHPR 120S, a specific battery naturally had to be developed. Haibike called upon BMZ for this purpose. The result is a 48 V battery with a capacity of 630 Wh. Inside, the battery connects via a magnet and can be secured against theft by a lock developed in collaboration with Abus. The battery level can be checked via a touch sensor. The waterproof battery can be charged via a 4-amp charger either directly on the bike or separately once removed.

Modular Rail System (MRS)

This patented system allows various accessories to be quickly attached directly to the bike. A mounting rail is integrated on top of the down tube, making it possible to install, for example, a water bottle or a bag in the ideal position. This way, all the accessories you might need during a ride are directly within reach. On hardtail frames, it is also possible to install an auxiliary battery in just a few simple steps, providing significantly greater range.

The MRS is based on the FidLock magnetic fastening system, which ensures a secure hold and easy handling.

Remote control

For the central interface between the rider and the system, Haibike has developed a remote control that can be used intuitively with perfect ergonomics: the mode selector is mounted under the handlebar and is accessible by the thumb even while riding, and a lateral LED strip changes colour depending on the selected assistance level.

On-board computer

Centrally positioned above the stem, the Haibike console ensures easy reading in all situations thanks to a high-quality display. Ride data and system information can be easily viewed across four customisable screens. It is also possible to display and analyse training data, such as heart rate measurement, cadence or calorie consumption.

Integrated lighting system

With its Skybeamer front light, Haibike allows the most dedicated riders to enjoy their bike in all seasons, regardless of lighting conditions. This headlight is available in 150, 300 and notably 5,000 lumens. The latter features an independent system with a daytime running light, providing a standard dipped beam as well as a full-beam headlight delivering maximum power. It can be operated remotely or fully automated by a light sensor integrated into the display.

It is complemented by an integrated dual rear light built into the chainstays, with 4 LEDs on each side ensuring maximum visibility of your bike, including from the sides in dangerous conditions.

Speed sensor

Haibike has equipped its FLYON models with a speed sensor at the disc. This sensor sends 18 signals per wheel rotation to the system, measuring speed 18 times more precisely than any other system available on the market. In this way, the system is able to react much more quickly and dynamically, and to detect acceleration even at low speed. The sensor is positioned safely and protected from harm.

By providing interconnection between the bike and smart functions, this system makes your experience even better.

Specifically, via a compact transmitter comprising a GPS transmitter, a GSM chip, a Bluetooth transmitter and an acceleration sensor that also detects vibrations and the e-bike's status. eConnect thus enables bike monitoring by alerting the owner on their smartphone in the event of a theft attempt. In the event of a fall, a message appears on the cyclist's smartphone. If the rider does not respond within a certain timeframe, an emergency call is automatically placed to a pre-defined number, informing the recipient of the location of the accident.

Finally, using data transmitted by the GPS transmitter integrated into the bike, the user can check the location of their bike at any time. The system also records routes, which can then be exported in GPX format to share a ride with friends, for example.
