Wolf Tooth Locked-In Bar Ends are handlebar end caps designed to provide a durable and stylish replacement for the original plastic caps, which tend to get lost or wear out quickly. Precision-manufactured in the United States, they provide maximum protection for the ends of your handlebars in the event of a fall or contact with a wall or tree.
The strength of this model lies in its “Locked-In” expansion locking mechanism. Thanks to an internal wedge that spreads apart when the screw is tightened, the bar end cap anchors firmly inside the tube. No more caps popping off at the slightest bump on the trail. Their flush profile also protects the ends of your grips from tearing.
Are these end caps compatible with carbon handlebars? Yes, they’re actually highly recommended for that purpose. Carbon handlebars are very sensitive to side impacts (such as when the bike falls to the ground). These aluminum end caps absorb the impact energy instead of the carbon, preventing the tube from cracking or delaminating at its end. Just be sure to follow the recommended torque settings to avoid putting excessive force on the carbon.
Does installation require any special tools?No, installation is extremely simple and quick. Simply insert the end cap into the end of your handlebars (after pushing on or installing your grips) and tighten the central screw using a standard Allen wrench (hex key). The system will expand inside the handlebar to lock itself in place.
Do they fit all types of grips? They’re perfect for standard grips with open or tapered ends. If you’re using “Lock-On” grips (with built-in aluminum clamps at both ends), simply make sure the outer end of the grip allows free access to the handlebar’s inner diameter.
