Description

The CONTINENTAL GATOR HARDSHELL 700c TubeType Soft Tire has been designed for commuters and urban cyclists looking for maximum durability, excellent grip and, above all, unfailing strength.

Developed from Gatorskin, the Gator Hardshell receives an extra layer of polyamide on the sidewalls, and a wide Poly-X puncture belt under the tread that extends downwards for better coverage. Add to this Duraskin ripstop mesh, and you have quite simply one of the most effective models in its class.

The must-have for sporty cyclists

"I have 2 generations of this tire. The first, 20000km on the front and only 1 puncture. The second, rear, 10000km and 1 puncture due to a metal chip. The 2 tires are studded with tiny pebbles, but resist perfectly. Rolling enough to do outings of +100km."

Wisewill (5/5)

Durable tire with very low susceptibility to punctures

"Very good tire that gives complete satisfaction: easy to mount, very resistant to punctures, long-lasting and good grip. Does not penalize the performance of a basic cyclist."

Lafovsg (5/5)

Great tire

"Heavy, noisy but indestructible. Best choice if you don't want any rupture headache"

Mpoudias (5/5)

Safety and peace of mind

"I used these tires over the winter to try and avoid punctures as much as possible. The least we can say is that in terms of solidity, you're served and serene. Of course, the performance is a little less good and the same goes for comfort, but it does the job."

Thias (4/5)

The most reinforced for the right weight

"Having ridden Continental GP 4000 S2s (the benchmark tire on the cyclosportive/competitor market) with about one puncture per 5000km almost exclusively on the rear, I thought extra protection would be perfect. So now I ride a Conti Gator Hardshell rear tire and a GP 4000 SII front tire. In terms of appearance, it's almost the same, as is the slightly heavier weight, but the Gator's resistance is more reliable. Ideal for regular cyclists looking for a hyper-reliable training tire."
