Used in World Cup XC by some of the discipline's best riders, including David Valero  (world top 10), the HUTCHINSON Kraken Racing Lab 29x2.30 Hardskin RaceRipost XC tire Tubeless Ready Flexible is an ultra-high-performance model designed exclusively for competitive Cross-Country on dry and mixed terrain.

The Kraken will delight riders eager for performance and responsiveness, as well as aggressive, committed riding. Its tread has been designed for optimum performance, always in contact with the ground, while the progressive intermediate and lateral studs provide security and are particularly effective on wide rims.

Designed around a sturdy, lightweight and impact-resistant 66 TPI carcass, the Kraken features the RaceRipost XC tread compound dedicated to pure performance, with a hard compound in the middle to guarantee high performance, and a softer compound on the sides for good grip.

This version also features Harskin bead-to-bar reinforcement, providing highly effective protection against cuts, tears, punctures and heavy impacts. The Kraken is ideal for front mounting.

"PV529322 has black sidewalls and not brown as shown in the illustration. The reference with brown sidewalls is PV529332. I've only done one outing with it in the mud and in front mount. Grip was okay, but not crazy either. I was probably over-inflated and the tire isn't suitable for heavy mud."

"Best tire I've used in a long time, apart from its weight. Does not tear on the first descent in enduro mode. Very good grip on real mountain bike trails with rocks, stones and roots. Not useful for those who ride on eggshells or white trails to VTC/gravel."
