Description

The MAGURA MT5e HIGO OPENER NC Front or Rear Brake is designed to offer maximum safety for fast electric bikes, drawing on its experience from the motorcycle sector and its expertise in electric bikes. With its four pistons, it delivers powerful braking force and high endurance.

The integrated eBike technology includes a mechanical switch in the brake lever that cuts the motor drive when braking, ensuring optimal safety.

The radial design of the brake lever reduces friction and transmission losses, allowing for varied transmission ratios for better modulation and feel. The one-piece forged 4-piston brake calliper offers great rigidity, resulting in high braking force and optimal modulation. This combination makes the MT5e an ideal choice for cyclists who demand performance and safety.

"Precise and effective braking, but the only issue is that I can't use the engine cut-off cable to stop the engine while braking, so I don't connect the engine cable because it prevents the engine from starting. I use my front brake to stop the engine."

Magura MT5E brake

"It doesn't work because I need a closer instead of an opener, but there was no way to know that before trying it, and unfortunately I had already cut the hose to test it since I wasn't expecting this, so I can't return it. I’ll have to reorder a closer handle so I can finally use it on my bike."

Fast and product-compliant

"You have to bleed the brakes several times before they work properly again."

"A very good set of brakes—they bite well and are responsive at the same time"

"Installing Magura brakes on a Zero 10x scooter"

Great brakes!

"Magura is an excellent brand with a well-established reputation. These brakes are progressive and pack a serious punch. I love how smooth the levers are—you can brake with just one or two fingers, even at high speeds. Just so you know, I installed them on a Dualtron Thunder electric scooter, and I needed the model with an electric lock (not an open-type), so be very careful before buying to make sure your e-bike or electric scooter is compatible, because I had to replace the electrical component. Plus, you can customize the lever collars and calipers with color options."
