Developed and tested in collaboration with Greg Minnaar, the MAXXIS Assegai 29x2.50 WT 3C tyre takes its name from a spear used by the Zulu people of South Africa. It is therefore the perfect weapon to conquer the mountains.
It features tall knobs providing great traction and good support on dry and wet, rooty or rocky terrain. The soft 3C Maxx Grip compound is ideal for extreme conditions for maximum grip and minimum rebound.
In this Tubeless Ready version that can be mounted with or without an inner tube, this tyre also features a reinforced DH casing to withstand the most demanding descents.

One hell of a hook
"Mounted on the rear of a 29 and used in the mountains on greasy, dry terrain. Superb grip and not too bad in greasy conditions. Performance wasn't great, but I was blown away by the tire's grip. Braking in steep terrain was very safe.

"Tested for about 200 km with a VTTAE plus I'm quite heavy (about 120 kg with the bike), in DH casing very pleasant because you can lower the pressure without fear of pinching or fuzzy feeling in the steering, easy mounting taken in soft rubber for the front."
