Description

Developed and tested in collaboration with Greg Minnaar, the MAXXIS Assegai 29x2.50 WT Exo+ 3C tyre MaxxTerra takes its name from a spear of the Zulu people of South Africa. It is therefore the perfect weapon to conquer the mountains.

It features tall knobs ensuring great traction and good support on dry and wet, rooty or rocky terrain. The 3C Maxx Terra compound is ideal for extreme conditions and maximum grip. Durable, it offers less rolling resistance than the MaxxGrip version.

In this version Tubeless Ready can be mounted with or without an inner tube, this tyre is also equipped with an Exo+ casing offering great puncture resistance. Durable and lightweight, it sits between the Exo and the Double Down.

Mixed opinion

"Mixed opinion. I usually ride with exo assegai for 5 years. After a slight gash on the sidewall of the tire (first time in 5 years) I decided to switch to exo +. After two months of use, the tire is cut on the sidewall over 5 to 6 cm. Is this a manufacturing defect or a lack of opportunity? I'm not convinced by the exo+."

Maxxis assegay 29x2. 5 a great tire

"Super grip uphill, it pulls without slipping on rocks or roots or leaves, it's excellent! On descents it grips very well laterally, I find it lacks a little brake but as you go faster with it it will be. I recommend it for front and rear tubeless versatility!
